Each day is broken up into 12-two hour segments that we call worship “Sets.” These sets occur on even hours (2-4, 4-6, 6-8, etc) and go from midnight to midnight. Every 2 hours a new set begins. If we have live music (which is our desire), a new team steps up and begins. If a live team is not available, then we play canned music (pre-recorded), or stream live worship through the internet into the space we call “The Prayer Room.”

If we don’t already have relationship with you, then we ask for a small application to be filled out so we can get acquainted and to fulfill our liability requirements. It’s pretty simple and doesn’t require we know your life history. We are simply looking for people who love the Lord and have a desire to minister to Him through worship and prayer. After the application, we’ll do a meet and greet and determine what might be a good fit for you. We will check the schedule, answer any questions you have of us, and get you into a spot.

We do not have a requirement for how often you will come and serve. You can sign up for a single set a day, week, month, or even a year. Our desire is to help facilitate an opportunity for you. How often you do a set is entirely up to you, but is of course subject to the schedule and what is available. “Drop-ins” are always welcome, but availability is often difficult while trying to maintain a 24/7 schedule. It is a considerable help to us if sets can be signed up on an ongoing basis, but it is not a requirement.

Again, this is entirely up to you. You can commit for a week, month, 6 months, or longer. You can do a set one time and see if it’s something you want to continue doing. We don’t have a minimum time you have to sign up for. If you commit to an ongoing slot, and after a few months feel its time to stop, that’s ok. We simply ask you to be faithful to whatever it is you commit to. We are thankful to have you have a part for as long as you can.

A “Team” can consist of any number from a single person to a team of 12 (rarely more).

A staff person will be there to greet you and show you to the briefing room. We ask you to arrive one half hour early for preparation. We try to make the sets as seamless as possible, in order to respect the people in the room who are seeking the Lord, and try to disturb them as little as possible. In the briefing room you can tune your instruments, get your songs ready, talk about what scriptures you want to use, and pray with your team.

Our primary motive is to minister to the Lord through song and prayer. This is a different but welcome paradigm change for many. Most are familiar with ministering to a room full of people, but often during your set there will be few or no people in the room. This can change from moment to moment as those from the city wander in and out of the Prayer Room. We do stress that this is not a time for performance, or preaching, or teaching, etc., which are all valid and valuable at other times and in other venues, but this space is designed specifically for worship and prayer unto the Lord.

Some will want to spend the entire 2 hours in worship. Others will spend most of their time in prayer. We do ask that some form of music be present, either live or pre-recorded instrumental, as worship is the foundation for the meetings and provides a good atmosphere for those who are coming to soak in His Presence. If you want to come and pray and have no music to accompany you, we will provide that. If you want to play your instrument and season it with periodic times of prayer, that’s fine too. Whatever you are comfortable with.

When your set is finished, another band, team, or individual will step up and continue the stream of worship and prayer to the Lord, as you pass the baton along to them. You can then use the briefing room again to de-brief and talk about how your set went. It’s also a great time to pray for the team you just gave the stage to. We are all one team!
